Hikarui

Currently in training as a somatic and art therapy practitioner, I write about what I'm learning on my own healing path—and what I'm unlearning along the way. Hikarui is for people seeking a quieter, slower way of being.

The Tea Room

Chashitsu (茶室) — the sacred space designed for Japanese tea ceremonies. Traditionally, everyone enters through a small, low door called the nijiriguchi (躙口), which requires guests to bow low, symbolising humility and equality regardless of status. Samurai left their swords outside. Here, I invite you to lay down whatever you've been carrying and come home to yourself. This is where I write and share what I'm discovering through my studies in Therapeutic Arts, contemplative practice, and the ongoing experiment of living beautifully — finding my way back to myself so we can find our way back together. You belong here, just as you are. I'm so grateful you've found your way here. ☺️ x
